Frostburg State University Presents The Cultural Events Series for Fall 2006

It's back again! Frostburg State University is once again proud to present the Cultural Events Series! For those who don't know what the Cultural Events Series is, here's a bit about it. The Cultural Events Series are a series of performances done by incredibly talented people from all over the world. It is an excellent chance for Frostburg students as well as the community to experience different types of art and music from various cultures around the world. This series takes place through out the year, and this fall's lineup is definitely a must see!

Here is a lineup of the performances which will be taking place this fall.

Saturday, October 7: The Spencer's Theatre of Illusion: Come out and see these mystifying acts of magic performed by Kevin and Cindy Spencer. They will be sure to astonish you with their illusions and magic.

Friday, October 13: Maryland Symphony Orchestra: Directed by Elizabeth Schulze, these incredibly talented musicians will leave you breathless with as they perform a few classic pieces of music.

Sunday, November 5: Aquila Theatre Company in William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet:" Come and see the Aquila Theatre Company performing one of the greatest and most famous love stories of all time. This is sure to be a performance that will not soon be forgotten.

Saturday November 18: Rachael Price: This 20 year old woman is an incredibly talented jazz vocalist who will be sharing her talents with FSU and the community. Ms. Price has already performed all over the world including France, and has even performed at the Society's of Singers gala to honor Elton John. This performance will definitely be memorable.

Sunday, November 19 and Monday, November 20: Christmas from Dublin starring The Three Irish Tenors: Come and hear this charming Irish trio perform a variety of Christmas songs from Ireland and all around the world.

Thursday, December 14: Moscow Symphony Orchestra - "Celebrating the Holidays:" This all Russian orchestra will get everyone into the holiday spirit by performing captivating selections from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" and Handel's "Messiah." They will also be performing a piece with the Allegany County High School All Star Choir.

Tickets for these events may be purchased at the University Box Office located in the Lane Center, room 235. As well, any FSU student, faculty or staff member who present a current FSU ID at the time of the ticket purchase can receive a discount to specified events. For those students who live on campus and would like to attend a performance off campus, there is transportation available. Ask the Box Office for more information. Any additional information about these performances can be gotten from the Help Desk in the Lane Center.

OK everyone! No more excuses! Come out and see at least one of these performances. This lineup is full of talented performers, and each performance will be absolutely amazing and unforgettable. So come on out and have a good time!
