The Lady Bobcats sought revenge on their conference rivals, Penn State Altoona, last Wednesday at home. The Nittany Lions defeated the Bobcats on September 15, 5-4 at Penn State Altoona, but Frostburg turned the tide beating them by the same score catapulting Frostburg to second place in the league.
The match began with a good showing from the Frostburg doubles teams. Heather Potosnak and Caroline Shedd teamed to win the number one doubles match, while Jenn Tolbert and Sarah Eisel combined their talents to win the number two doubles match.
We had great play from our doubles teams, they really helped us today, said FSU Head Coach Stuart Swink.
Potosnak lead the way for the singles matches shutting out Nittany Lions Pia Capra 6-0, 6-0 in the number one singles match. Frostburg's second single win came from Tolbert in the number three singles match 6-3, 6-2. The final Bobcat victory came from Shedd at number four singles 6-4, 6-0.
The four losses came from number two, five and six singles, and number three doubles.
"This was the best we've played all year," said Swink.
This is also the best they've played since Swink has taken over as Head Coach of the Lady Bobcats. The Bobcats with a 6-7 record are looking at winning record in the eye for the first time since Swink has taken over.
The Lady Bobcats will be back in action at home again on October 6th when they face off against West Virginia Wesleyan.
