United States, South Korea Try to Resume Nuclear Talks
President Bush and South Korean president Roh Moo Hyun met Thursday to discuss attempts to resume nuclear talks with North Korea, which have stalled as of late as North Korea has refused to participate in the six-nation meetings. While an administration official said that the presidents came up with "no more specific proposals", the meeting was considered to be congenial and constructive.

E. Coli Outbreak in Twenty Midwestern States
FDA officials warn consumers not to eat bagged fresh spinach in fear of an E. coli outbreak in 20 states starting on August 23rd, leading to a death in Wisconsin. While generally associated with beef products, crops could become contaminated from the use of fertilizers. Natural Selection Foods, LLC, is recalling all of its foods containing spinach with "Use By" dates from August 17th through October 1st, and individuals who feel ill after consuming raw or pre-packaged spinach are encouraged to contact their health care providers.

Candlelight Vigil Held to Highlight Relational Concerns between Students and Residents
A candlelight walk was held last Thursday to highlight concerns of a deteriorating relationship between local residents and students. This event comes on the heels of a September 4th assault in which a local man was punched in the face by a student after visiting an unlicensed fraternity house, as well as a stabbing occurring two days prior. University President Jonathan Gibralter and Protestant Chaplain Larry Neumark spoke at the event.

'100 Years of Broadway' to be Held Tomorrow
Neil Berg's "100 Years of Broadway" is to be held tomorrow, Sept. 21st 2006 at 7:30 pm in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The event, sponsored by Cultural Event Series, recreates some of the biggest moments from the best known Broadway musical shows of the century. This performance is funded in part by the Peter and Iris Halmos Family Foundation.
