Every time I walk to class I see shirts screenprinted to read, "RUSH DZ" or Sig Tau's wearing shirts informing me that four out of five moms prefer Sig Tau over others. Every email I check has events like KTE's "Nacho Regular Girl" night or fraternities going bowling. What does it mean? We are smack in the middle of Recruitment Season.

Each fraternity or sorority is on the hunt for new members who meet the standards and ideals of their organizations whether those standards are to be active, self reliant, and trustworthy, or to value learning, leadership, excellence, benefit, and integrity.

No matter what group you're interested in joining, just keep in mind that the University has a few minimum standards for membership. You must have 12 or more credits and a GPA that is a 2.25 or above. If you don't meet these minimums and a group is still offering you a bid, their organization is either breaking the rules (known as taking undergrounds) or they are not recognized by the University.

As I pass the brightly colored rush shirts and see my inbox full of recruitment schedules I'll keep wishing all the Greeks a successful recruitment, and hoping the potential new members find their perfect fit!
