Junior Danielle Carter out of Rockville
High School in Rockville, MD isn't the
most physically imposing person. That
hasn't stopped her from dominating the
AMCC with tons of goals and assists.
Carter plays forward and some midfield
and is in 3rd place all time with 45 goals.
In high school, Carter was a multi-sport
athlete playing soccer, playing basketball
and running track. In soccer, she was the
teams MVPas a junior and senior. She
was also the basketball's team MVPas a
junior. In track, she ran the 100m dash,
the 200m dash, the 1 mile, and the 2 mile.
This obviously helped her in soccer since
she was able to have the short burst and
endurance needed in the sport. Coming
out of high school, Carter was also being
recruited by other schools such as Salis-
bury. Just as every student does, she fell
in love with the campus on her recruiting
visit and chose Frostburg as her school of
choice to continue her soccer career.
Since coming to Frostburg, Carter has
torn it up. As a freshman, she earned All-
AMCC Newcomer of the Year and sec-
ond-team All-AMCC honors. She totaled
31 points (15 goals) which was enough for
second on the team. As a sophomore,
Danielle continued to improve. She was
one of five Bobcats to start all 20 games.
She scored 19 goals and 45 points which
earned her a First-team All-AMCC selec-
tion and FSU's Co-Offensive MVP.
Carter set a single-season school record
with seven multi-goal scoring games and
tied the school mark with three hat tricks.
Carter continued to excel in her junior
season where she scored 11 goals and 45
points. She was named the team's Offen-
sive Most Valuable Player, the Allegheny
Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of
the Year and earned a first-team All-
AMCC selection. Carter said she's "very
excited about next season playing on the
new turf... and getting to meet new peo-
ple." "Meeting teammates" was her
favorite thing about playing soccer at
Frostburg.
Outside of soccer, Carter does anything
Intramural. She's a major in exercise and
sports medicine and after college, wants
to do anything that will keep her active
and in the sports scene.
