Senator holds round table discussion with students and faculty

Senator Ben Cardin paid a visit to Frostburg State University last Sunday afternoon to speak with students and faculty.After a weekend of skiing, Maryland’s newly elected democratic senator, Ben Cardin, took advantage of the opportunity to meet with several of the university’s top students and faculty to discuss their concerns with the rising cost of higher education. Anybody who’s been in the Lane Center has seen the Ophelia Project, whether the members were selling pumpkins at Halloween to fundraise, or just trying to inform the student body about their cause. This new student volunteer group began in September of 2006, and they have already made big plans to make a difference. (7) comments

University Theatre will present a whimsical interpretation of “Eurydice” by playwright Sarah Ruhl on March 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. and March 3 at 2 p.m. in the Drama Theatre of Frostburg State University’s Performing Arts Center.The traditional story of Orpheus and Eurydice is a cornerstone of Western mythology and has been retold in nearly every art form. Ski season is here, finally! Thefts of skis, snowboards and even boots happen with regularity. Don't just stick your skis in the snow when you go in for that cup of hot chocolate. Lock them up. Use the resort's facilities, or buy your own cables. Several bike lock companies sell locking systems just for skis. In addition, engrave your equipment with your driver's license number. Don't want to mark up your skis? At least engrave the bindings. True, the bindings can be changed out, but it will work for an on-the-spot identification. (0) comments
