We all have different ways of studying. A lot of people use music to study to. Upbeat music is good to keep you motivated and moving. Slower music is great for staying calm and keeping concentrated. There is a lot of great music to listen to, from many different years and all types of genres.

An Alternative Activity

Many of Frostburg State University's students, as in the case of the students of probably any university, are involved in on-campus extracurricular activities. Such activities range anywhere from athletics, to writing for the school's student newspaper. However, many students are not fully content with or fulfilled by the activities offered by the school. While these students do often create (or at least attempt to create) their own organizations, some seek involvement elsewhere. FSU students Dexter Wallis, senior, Jon Radovich, junior, Stephanie Gwinn, senior, Steve Baughman, senior, and Kevin Schoelkopf, freshman, are amongst such students. Instead of the typical after-class activities or simply retiring for sleep once their classes are done, these individuals volunteer at Frostburg's Shaft Fire Department. Here, they have been receiving training in automobile accident rescues.

With this spring semester rapidly coming to an end, there is nothing thought of and awaited more by students than the summer. Thoughts of the fun possibilities the hot season brings with it plague even the minds of those of us who are graduating. The sheer ability to enjoy a few months of leisure without such daunting thoughts as "Do I have to take an exam tomorrow?" or "When is that paper supposed to be turned in?" is certainly enough to lure students into daydreaming spells.

It is clear to everyone that movie prices are skyrocketing and they are up there to stay for a while. Americans have not yet rekindled their love of the movies, which had ended around the time television got popular and the work week was shortened to five instead of seven days, so people could now spend their days gardening and their nights watching late night TV.

This is the time-- the time where seniors are finishing their last assignments, their last finals, and their last weeks as college students. In a matter of a couple of weeks, they will be stepping across that stage and getting their diplomas after years of hard work and dedication. Now the "real world" begins, and this slap of reality can be a bitter sting. Luckily, there are a few things students can do to make sure they put their best foot forward when going to get a job.

One month into the season, the Baltimore Orioles have failed to live up to expectations. With a stockpile of young talent, and some key offseason additions, the Orioles were expected to be a competitive team. However, they have been more of a laughing stock so far this season. Through 18 games the Orioles had the dismal record of 2-16, including a nine game losing streak. Their record now stands at 8-21 through 29 games, and there are a lot of fingers to be pointed.

The year 1995: O.J. Simpson was found innocent, Jerry Garcia died, and Nintendo unleashed the world's first portable 3D video game console.
